TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I was a teacher for 22 years. During that time I have a wide range of experiences, including Theatre director, English teacher (honors, on-level, co-taught from 7-12th grades) and Speech teacher; as well as being involved in many extracurricular activities. My final teaching position was AP Language and Composition as well as the English Department Chair. I am currently an Associate Principal and New Tech Director at DeKalb High School. MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a strong advocate for sharing power in the classroom. I like my students to feel a strong sense of safety, ownership, and value. Their opinions actually contribute to the atmosphere of the classroom and they are highly motivated, inspired, and involved.
