TEACHING EXPERIENCE

11th year teacher with experience in both middle school and high school settings. Courses taught include: - 8th grade Language Arts (co-taught with American History) - Reading Development / Reading and Writing Success (a support class for students struggling with English) - 9th grade English - American Literature (11th grade) - 10th grade English - Language Lab (2 differentiated courses - one for freshman (9) and one for grades 10-12) as a support class for students to improve English ability and prepare for standardized testing / meet graduation requirements

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have presented at the New Tech Network national conference in Orlando, Florida, in 2017 on the topic of "Managing Teams in the Middle School Classroom". I am currently the team leader for our high school's Sophomore English Department. I have led several Professional Development Sessions to teachers throughout our school district on topics such as: Managing Teams in the Classroom, Strategies for Group Work, and other Instructional strategies.
