For the last four years, I worked with the Appleton Area School District's Newcomers Program. I taught 1st through 6th grader students that were new to the distract, state, & country. They had a basic level of English and we taught them as homeroom teachers. Many of the activities I designed were to implement the curriculum in a hands-on way that would be memorable to my English Language Leaners. I completed my student teaching in an urban setting with 4th graders & 6th grade bilingual (English/Spanish) students. Relevant Experiences: *Volunteered with 10-21 year old girls in San Jose, Costa Rica. *Site Leader for YMCA After-School Program *Teach craft classes to children & adults *Teach technology staff development classes for district & teaching conferences. *Teach English/Language Arts conferences for district & teaching conferences.
I love doing fun, hands-on projects that the students will be excited about and remember when it's over! I incorporate technology into my teaching whenever possible, and am pursing my master's in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Education Technology.
