TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught Elementary Music for the last 24 years and previously taught Choir at the secondary level for 6 years

MY TEACHING STYLE

Communicating the joy of music is what I seek. Kodaly and Piano Lab are my two main emphasis (the majority of my students can play the piano with both hands by 5th grade). A major thread of composing is throughout K-5 with a culminating project in 5th grade that grants them a CD of their own work. We also do Recorder Karate in 4th grade. Our biggest performance is the 3rd grade Multicultural Concert staging Music and Dance classes which integrate with 3rd grade classroom studies and includes Art Class displaying their work on the walls.
