TEACHING EXPERIENCE

13 years of education experience teaching in urban, suburban, and rural school district as a teacher, interventionist, reading specialist, and literacy coach. I've worn many hats in my career!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to use literacy in all ways in my classroom and as I work with wonderful teachers as a Literacy Coach. I support my students with what they need, with love, and high expectations.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Trained in Jan Richardson's Guided Reading, Conscious Discipline, CAFE strategies, Lucy Calkins Reader's & Writer's Workshop, and Thinking Maps.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received my certification as a Reading Specialist as I finished my Masters in K-12 Literacy from the University of Michigan. I received my undergraduate degree from Central Michigan University with concentrations in math, language arts, and elementary school certifications. I also am a professional development junkie and love to learn about the newest in literacy research! I read many professional books too. Recently, I've been working with Reading Conferences by Jennifer Seravallo and am starting The Next Steps Forward in Running Records by Jan Richardson et al.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I love teaching early elementary students reading and writing. Lately for my TPT store, I have been expanding into math and middle school content as well!
