My name is Mrs. Jill Tanner. I have been teaching for 18 years. I started teaching as a substitute In Jackson Madison County School System while working on my masters. I subbed over 150 days my first year completing 3 interim maternity leaves. I student taught in Chester County for 4th-grade and 7th-grade English/Grammar. I have taught at South Elementary in JMCSS as a Reading Specialist and Halls Elementary in Halls, TN as a 2nd-grade teacher. I taught 3rd-grade for 4 years at Dyersburg Intermediate in Dyersburg, TN. I was a Technology Coach at Dyersburg Primary School in Dyersburg, TN for one year. I taught 4th-grade at Thelma Barker Elementary for two years, Kindergarten for one year and 3rd-grade for one year. I taught Kindergarten for 2 years and 4th-grade ELA/SS for one year at Beech Bluff Elementary. I was a Data Coach at Rose Hill PreK-8 School for two years. I am currently teaching at Pope School. I taught 6th-grade Social Studies for the 2018-2019 school year. This year I am teaching 4th-grade ELA/SS at Pope. I obtained a master's of education in Curriculum and Instruction from Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Political Science at Harding University in Searcy, AR. I have been working on my Ph.D. in Educational Technology at Walden University. I am originally from Jackson, Tennessee. I am so excited to be teaching in Jackson-Madison County Schools.
