Teacher-Leader Lifeline

I have over 20 years of experience teaching students of all ages, including higher education. I am currently the Department Chair and Teacher of Visual Arts at a small independent school that serves USA and international students. I teach graphic arts, studio arts, and "Domestic" arts, aka Home Economics

I believe that every student is an artist. This is why I work to fuse visual art and creative expression into all of my lessons. Whether it is a lesson on life skills, like time management or budgeting, I will work to have students create visually enticing final products. If students are learning visual arts skills, I encourage all-out experimentation. My motto is "Just try it." Check out one of my lessons and give it a try. I bet you'll have a blast!

Dr. Bush holds the title of Assistant Professor, serving as Faculty and Department Chair for Visual Arts and Design programs at the college level since 2006. In 2016, while maintaining an Adjunct Professor position, she transitioned to the classroom, teaching Middle School and High School Visual Arts, including AP Art & Design. Her proven track record of teaching has supported favorable college acceptances to prestigious art colleges including Rhode Island School of Design, Parsons School of Design, the Fashion Institute of Technology, Pratt Institute, Savannah College of Art and Design, and the Art Institute of Chicago (to name a few). Dr. Bush holds an MFA from Pratt Institute and a DM in Higher Education Teaching and Learning from Colorado Technical University.
