TEACHING EXPERIENCE

2017-2018 will be my 11th year of teaching. Taught 2nd grade for 4 years and will be teaching 3rd grade for the 7th year.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I strive to make my students feel safe, important, and loved so that their curiosity can take off and drive their learning. I use the Class Dojo management system and try to reward/acknowledge good choices and behaviors as much as possible instead of getting bogged down in negative behaviors.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Named Campus "Teacher of the Year" 2013-2014. Named District "Super Teacher" for being a 21st century educator, April 2013

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BA in Music from Hunter College, CUNY Teaching certification from Texas A&M-Commerce

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Married in 2008, I am Mom to 2 precious boys! One is finishing up his Kindergarten year, and the other will be 3 in December 2017. I have performed in musicals since high school, and continue to do so during summers, but I've been mostly on hiatus since having my boys. In addition to singing and acting, I love blogging, Pinterest-surfing, Instagram-ing, reading (mostly fiction), and watching t.v. And of course creating fun new activities for my 3rd graders!
