I spent six years teaching second grade and one year teaching elementary art & interventions. I absolutely love to watch my children learn and grow, especially when I see that "light bulb" turn on! I love having fun and try to make even the most boring of subjects fun. I have found that's the only way that I will gain and capture their attention!
I try to present material in many different ways to help accommodate the learning styles of all of my students. Each year as a new set of students arrive, there is always an adjustment period where I must figure out what works best for my students. That is the one thing I have learned most from teaching, just because the strategy works best with one group of students, doesn't mean that it will work well for the next. I think that is what makes me love my job so much, I love change, and as a teacher, things are ALWAYS changing!
