TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have experience teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades over the past 17 years. I am currently teaching 5th-grades virtually to students all across the state of South Carolina.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Teaching virtually was a challenge at first as I learned to keep students engaged. Building relationships with my students and their families has helped me be successful in keeping students engaged and effectively teaching online. I believe a student-centered approach to learning is most effective, and I strive to create opportunities for my students to interact and engage in a safe learning environment so they can be as successful as possible.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

In addition to being a teacher, I am married and have two children. My son, Elijah is 9 years old and loves to study history and science. My daughter, Lillian, is 8 years old. She loves to craft, crochet, and sew. She even has her own little business. :) My family and I love to travel, to explore new places, to watch college football, and be involved in our church. I am an avid reader. It is rare that you find me without a book in my hand!
