I taught third grade for 16 years. I have a master's degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Educational Technology. I have received extensive training in the area of differentiated instruction, and am a proud user of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, along with strategies from the Love and Logic series.
I believe in a gradual release model of teaching - I Do, We Do, You Do. Whole group instruction is limited to mini-lessons, and most of the instructional time in my room is spent in small group lessons. I make every attempt to engage my students with materials and instructional methods that I believe will interest them and help them retain information. And above all, I love to have fun with my kids!
I had the honor of becoming one of the first members of the Findlay City School 21st Century Academy for teachers. I am currently a member of the Findlay City Schools Incubator and Ignition teams, where we are focusing on implementing 21st century teaching for 21st century learnings.
I have a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Findlay.
I am blessed with a wonderful husband and 3 children.
