Special Education - Peggy Simpson

I am an Education Specialist with over 18 years experience in teaching a Special Day Class (the last four years in a juvenile detention facility) for students from 8th - 12th grade. I am the ELD lead at our school and have won many awards over the years. I design core curriculum lesson plans that are fun and interactive for all grade levels. I am currently working on a program that is going to change the way that incarcerated youth are taught. I have trained many student teachers to go on and be successful Special Education Teachers. I am currently designing a group of lesson plans for Transition and Career Education. I film my students presenting various lesson plan activities. The students love being filmed while they're singing, dancing and just celebrating the learning experience!

I'm the Ellis Island of our school! Presenting lessons that are fun and easily grasped (from easy to hard) by my students (who range in cognitive abilities from 24 months to College level). A couple of my specialties are: theme teaching and behavior modification.
