TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Currently, I am a full time mom having "retired" from teaching after 10 years. I have 5 children which include triplets and being home with them has been a great opportunity for the whole family . Previously, I was an Intervention Specialist for an Ohio School District servicing students identified with disabilities from Kindergarten to 4th grade. In January 2016, I started teaching English online to ESL students in China. It has been a very rewarding experience working with so many different students and I enjoy the flexible schedule that it allows for me to spend time with my family.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I'm passionate about fostering a life-long love of learning. Special education is founded on individualizing instruction and curriculum to meet the needs of unique students. In my classroom, knowledge is obtained through a variety of structured routines and activities that allow for multiple modalities of learning including technology, hands-on learning, and providing situations that require students to rationalize and analyze information to uncover the knowledge.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Special Education in 2009 and thereafter obtained my Teaching Certification for Moderate/Intensive Disabilities for grades K-12. At this time I also passed the required Praxis exam to become Highly Qualified in Reading. In 2013 I graduated with my a Master’s degree and received Certification in Autism and Related Disabilities.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I was born and raised in Ohio which is where my husband and our 5 children currently live. I enjoy reading, researching and making anything that helps children learn!
