TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm an ninth year teacher currently teaching AP Human Geography, AP United States History, and Latin American Studies. I have previously taught Psychology (AP, Honors, and On-level) and Sociology (Honors and On-level). I am my district's teacher of the year 2023-2024. I studied at the University of North Carolina Asheville as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow scholarship recipient. I have lead multiple Professional Development sessions for my school district on writing with evidence in history, using interactive notebooks in history, creating choice boards, and implementing hexagonal thinking. MY TEACHING STYLE

I incoporate a lot of opportunities for student generated products and visual notes/representations of learning. I work hard to provide a variety of perspectives, opportunities for student choice, and an incorporation of primary source texts.
