I taught public speaking and drama in the classroom for 3.5 years. My students were often complimented on their poise and fluency after taking my class.
I think learning public speaking is like learning to swim. There's only so much you can tell them- they have to get up and practice! I want my students to speak often on different subjects, sometimes planned and sometimes impromptu. Overall, this method has produced more relaxed, fluid speakers. I love attending school events and seeing my students step up and speak with confidence!
I have coached winning teams in drama and acting competitions. I love teaching kids how to bring classic literature to life!
I took a few speech classes as a high schooler and fell in love. I got a Bachelors of Science in Speech Pedagogy and loved every minute. Public Speaking may be the general public's greatest fear, but it doesn't have to be.
Taking a break from the classroom to raise my sweet baby. I love sharing things I used in the classroom on this platform!
