I have been working towards a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Rehabilitation and Disabilities Studies and Counseling. I will receive my diploma from Emporia State University in December 2023. Then, I will begin a Masters Degree Program for Special Education with a low-incidence certification.
I have worked with children my entire life. Being raised by my grandmother in her at-home daycare, I have learned a lot about kids. When I knew I wanted to become a teacher, I decided to start at the beginning and got a job as a paraprofessional. Having loved my job so much, I decided to get my degree and make a career out of it! I have worked with a variety of ages and abilities. My years as a Job Coach in an Autism program have been under the supervision of a highly qualified BCBA and I have learned so much about working with individuals with disabilities, Applied Behavior Analysis, classroom management, how to create engaging materials for all abilities, and so much more.
