Social worker and short films aficionado, I believe that engaging short films can be one of the best tools to promote curiosity, perspective-taking and reflection in the classroom. For students to build insight and access creative and critical thinking, they often need to follow an "outside-in" learning process; watching or observing something in order to prompt deeper connections, emotions and perspectives. These films are meant to be exploratory, evocative and accessible as they explore different and nuanced themes. Hit play and then sit back and enjoy. I always suggest doing a debrief with open-ended questions at the end. What did you think of this film? What did you related to? What more do you want to know? How did you feel?
