TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 23 years of teaching experience. I have taught in urban and suburban schools on both coasts. I have taught grades 1-5, been a mentor to new teachers, and taken on student teachers.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Highly structured with a lot of room for flexibility and independent choice within that structure. Nurturing and calm with students, but without compromising on high expectations.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Voted Teacher of the Year by my school colleagues for the 2010-2011 school year. Earned a Fund for Teachers Fellowship in 2022 to explore creativity in the classroom.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BA from UConn, Educational degree from San Francisco State University, MS in media from Southern CT State University.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have attended many, many math and science workshops outside of the classroom.
