I teach K-5 Spanish at an elementary school in central Kentucky. I have taught Spanish for 12 years but I also taught English abroad in Japan and France. I love languages and speak English, Spanish, French, and Japanese.
I teach for proficiency, using comprehensible input and 90% in the target language. I try to incorporate as much core content as possible.

I started studying Spanish when I was in the 8th grade and continued on through college. I graduated with a BA in History but didn't think I wanted to be a teacher back then. I soon discovered, however, that the best way to fund my international lifestyle was teaching English. After three years in Japan teaching at the elementary school level I decided to come home, take a few more courses in Spanish and get my alternate certification. I'm proud to teach in a state that values World Language instruction at every level.
Besides travel and foreign languages, my interests also include salsa dancing, reading, and binge-watching Netflix.
