I began teaching in my neighbor's backyard while still in elementary school; later taught German for 25 years, French for 20, English for 10, and Business Administration for 10. Now retired from public school teaching, I'm focused on my website, roadtofreecollege.com, and my new book, Free College, which are dedicated to helping teachers, parents, grandparents and students earn more free cash for college.
Proactive.
The award of which I am the most proud was from the California Department of Education. It was given to the school where I helped increase the number of foreign language teachers from two to eight. This Outstanding Achievement Award was for having the greatest percentage of seniors completing three or more years of foreign language courses.
BA in German, French and English from California State University, Fullerton, MBA from the University of Redlands.
I built a large, vibrant foreign language department which included German, French and Spanish, (levels 1- AP) in a California public high school. I later moved to South Africa where I taught adults how to start and grow their own businesses. After returning to the U.S., I developed a French Program (levels 1-IB) in a different California school district, increasing the number of sections from three to eleven. Lately, I wrote Free College, so parents can learn how to help Pre-K through High School students become the ideal college scholarship and grant applicants.
