I have been an English teacher for nearly a decade. I began my career as an 8th grade ELA teacher but recently transitioned to high school English teacher. I teach World Literature to sophomores and British Literature to seniors. Prior to my current position, I also taught at an urban charter school, specifically a K-8 building, working with students of all grades in the school.
Teaching is my passion and if I had to choose a favorite aspect "instructional design" would be hard to beat! I absolutely love to create aesthetically-pleasing but academically rigorous content. My teaching style can best be described as creative, engaging, and personalized. I'm always willing to do what it takes to customize my educational content so it's most appropriate for the countless types of learners. Specifically, I'm most proud of the ways I modify educational resources for ELLs, students with IEPs, and advanced thinkers. I aim to meet every student at their level, finding what interests them and what matters to them so I can ultimately connect the curriculum to their strengths and interests.

I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in English and a certificate in Children's Literature. I then went on to pursue my Master's degree in Secondary Education at Carlow University.
I am the mother of two girls. When I'm not chasing after them or working with my high schoolers, I enjoy reading, creating, and sports.
