My first teaching experience was as a third grade teacher in a public school. The next 42 years were happily spent as a special education teacher in an approved private school with the most caring staff, wonderful students and families.
I can best describe my teaching style as adaptive. I have always enjoyed adapting materials to accommodate my students varying abilities, interests and learning styles. It was important to me to design activities that allowed for my students' independence and success. Integrating reading, math and writing with weekly science and social studies made my planning interesting and learning fun. With the support of so many incredible therapists (PT,OT,SPL) my students were always geared for success.

I am currently retired and am grateful to be spending more time with my family and friends. Although I do miss teaching, I also remember how incredibly busy my life was while working and raising a family. Keeping up with current educational practices and relying on my many years of special education, I hope to share ideas and resources that will help you with your busy teaching lives.
