TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for 4 years in a high-priority school with diverse student abilities. I have taught honors and college prep sections of English II and have experience preparing students for the NC End of Course test for English II. Even if you are not in North Carolina, the EOC resources are great for any Common Core-based assessment. I have also taught Honors Advanced Inquiry and Research, an English elective, and AP Seminar.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is focused on student-centered learning. I have minimized my lecture time in order to focus more on project-based learning with my students in order to take the concepts we see in our reading and apply them to the real world. I prefer for students to read at home and then come into class to participate in engaging activities.
