TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for more than 30 years. My experience ranges from 2nd grade through 8th grade, but most of my years have been spent in the 7th grade science classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My goal is ALWAYS to take the students to the information to let them see real life applications of the material being taught. I believe once they have been given a chance to identify with the topic at hand they need to experience as much of it as possible. Involve them and they will learn! I love making animated power points and my students enjoy them as well. I use these to introduce a topic. They are full of information on the given topic. They allow the students to see first hand the topic we are discussing.I then put it on the table for them to experience through lab activities. I love teaching science because there is so much for them to do and to experience and to relate to their own lives. I am all over technology. It allows us to learn and do so much more and makes learning exciting for the students. It literally puts information from all over the world at the tips of our fingers. WOW...I find myself continuously fascinated by science.:)
