I am a former research scientist (PhD in microbiology) turned science educator and communicator. I have been teaching science at science centers and informally at preK-12 schools for the past 7 years. I have experience in all science disciplines and I use my network of experts to validate my educational programming. I've created field trips for all ages, high school research programs, camps for elementary students, science center exhibits, and hands-on activities. I also train role models on how to engage with students in the classroom using hands-on activities.
Learn through play. I also like Montessori and I try to use real images and stories and I love Mystery Science.
I was project manager and educator at EmPower Place which is a family learning center embedded in a food bank. It is the first of it's kind in the nation: one part library, one part science center, one part meal site. We won an international award for Visitorship presented by the Association of Science and Technology Centers.
