I have been teaching for 18 years, mainly in middle school. I have a niche with young adults, but have found that the younger grades kept my teaching day busy with their new discoveries.
I strive to point out text evidence to students to decipher information. With the increase of technology from the days of dry erase overhead projectors, teachers can use visual aids to really make concepts concrete for learners.
I was awarded the Light of Learning award for my school. This award is given to teachers who excel in all aspects of the teaching profession and church and community involvement.
I have a Bachelor of Science as well as a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
I am married to my Catholic high school sweetheart with two children who enjoy spending time playing board games and doing dishes and laundry together. :) I've focused my career choices to be certain I can balance a career in education while dedicating time with my family. Any lessons I create I want to save time for others so they too can be where they need to be in their lives without the overtime needed in a teaching career.
