Through my clinical placement for my teaching degree, I taught Geometry and project based learning STEM courses. Furthermore, I organized summer STEM camps through Mercer University.
My teaching style embodies the words of Ms. Frizzle, "Take chances! Make mistakes! Get Messy!" I encourage my students to embrace mistakes and failure as integral parts of the learning process because we learn more from our mistakes than we do our successes. Furthermore, we need to encourage students to be comfortable with failure because it instills resiliency and persistence.
2014 Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Recipient, Mercer University Engineering Scholarship Recipient, ABAC Engineering Department Award Recipient, 2017 Woodrow Wilson Georgia Teaching Fellowship Recipient
I graduated with a B.S.E in Mechanical Engineering (ABET Accredited). I am an EDTPA certified teacher with a MAT in Secondary Education-STEM. Furthermore, I am GACE certified in Secondary Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering Technology Education.
I am an outspoken advocate of public education. I strongly believe students excel in the classroom when instructed by highly trained and qualified teachers. Unfortunately, those who possess degrees in STEM tend to purse fields outside education. That is why I hope my background in engineering and my assignments are helpful to those who want to expose students to the real world applications of the content they learn in the classroom.
