TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching in K-12 classrooms for the past 13 years with a focus on Mathematics and Technology. I am currently working as a Mathematics Lead Teacher Facilitator - working with teachers to help them infuse the new Alberta Program of Studies, using manipulatives, technology, etc. I am constantly offering professional development to teachers within Alberta as part of my current position but also when in a regular classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I strive to create a problem-solving, collaborative and manipulative based classroom, regardless of grade level. I incorporate Smart Notebook lessons, Web 2.0 tools and manipulatives to help students understand the mathematics rather than teaching rote memorization and regurgitation.
