8 years of teaching ELA in 8, 9 and 10th grade. 3 years of teaching AVID 11 and 12.
I believe in structuring every lesson, differentiating instruction, public praise with private discipline, and lots of structured student interaction. I think kids, all students at every level, need think time and the freedom to explore different ideas and views. I create a safe space where learning is (mostly) fun and engaging.
Honored for being the "most influential teacher" for one of our top 10 graduates!
After muddling my way through community college with no drive and no direction, I finally settled on English as a major. I graduated from CSUS and went directly into a credential program and haven't looked back since!
