I am currently in my 11th year teaching middle school and I absolutely love it! I have worked in both Connecticut and New Jersey, teaching and case managing students at the 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels. I completed my elementary education student teaching experience in a 3rd grade classroom, and my special education student teaching experience in a Post-Secondary Transition Academy. Furthermore, I am currently an Adjunct Professor in the Special Education Department at the University of Hartford, teaching courses in Classroom Management and Emotional and Behavioral Disorders. I currently hold certificates in multiple states for Special Education, Elementary Education and Language Arts/Literacy in the middle school grades.
Hands on, fun, and tailored to the student and their unique, individual needs.
Alumni Giving Back Award Recipient, University of Hartford (2017), Teacher of the Year Nominee, Litchfield Public Schools (2015)
I graduated cum laude from the University of Hartford, in West Hartford, Connecticut, with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Studies. From there, I pursued my Masters of Arts in Education in Secondary Reading and Language Arts at the University of Saint Joseph. I am currently working towards my certification to become a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant in the state of New Jersey.
My goal is to help teachers become more informed and better equipped to teach each learner in their classroom. I believe ALL students can achieve their dreams, and it is our jobs as teachers to support and guide them in this endeavor. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to reach out!
