Real Life Relevant Education

I have been teaching in public and private schools for the past 10 years. Most of my experience has been in grades 4-6.

My teaching is primarily based upon real-life, relevant implementation. I accomplish this through a number of methods, although the majority of the class is taught through the class economy. My teaching is Deweyian in principle, with my motto being that school is not preparation for lief, it is life.

I was part of an award winning staff recognized with the "Staff of the Year of 2012" in one of the largest boards in North America, the Toronto District School Board, in Toronto, Ontario.

I am currently in the second year of my PhD in Education in curriculum, teaching, and learning. I am interested in relevant, practical education taught with a focus on critical character development.
