TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This marks my 22nd year teaching high school English. I have experience with all grade levels, 9th - 12th, and all skill levels including in-class support classes through honors. Additionally I have taught Journalism/Mass and Social Media, and a College Expository Writing course in which students received college credits at our local Community College.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I facilitate a Learner-Active, Technology-Infused classroom. I focus on authentic learning tasks to answer the "why" of classroom tasks. My students are encouraged to take ownership and responsibility in planning their class periods and are given choice in the assignments they complete; differentiation is key.
