TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Plenty of experience here! I taught in the classroom for six years: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th. As well as two years in the elementary library, currently. I have taught in a variety of environments with a variety of students: ELL, Special Education, Gifted, Regular Ed, you name it.

MY TEACHING STYLE

In the classroom I always wanted to play games and have students enjoy learning. In the library, the idea of pairing literature with games in the library/classroom setting was born.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Back in 2012 I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Science with a concentration in Family and Child Studies, then a minor in Psychology and Sociology. I then went on to teacher Family Education class, and work for the foster care system. I moved to Texas and decided to become a teacher. Six years later, COVID hit, and I made the transition to school librarian. Here I am in year two, and am LOVING it!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Originally from Louisiana, a town by the Texas border. I grew up on cajun food and family crawfish eating parties. Currently living in Texas in a town south of Houston. I have been married for a number of years now with one child. Just trying to spice up the library life!
