TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught middle school for nearly two decades years and worked as a curriculum writer since 2000 when my first book of plays, 25 Mini-Plays for World History, was published by Scholastic. For two decades, I've worked as a contractor for a variety of educational publishers and written my share of text-based assessments, lessons, articles, and literature guides. With four published books of my own for young readers, I also get to spread my love of literature and reading with kids. Recently, I started my own small business through which I create and publish Read Together Guides for kids to share the enjoyment of a story with the adults who love them.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Best summarized by this Neil Geiman quote: "I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're doing something."
