TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a fifth year teacher. My first year, I taught high school in Ohio, then I taught middle school for three years in Ohio. Now, I'm teaching middle school in Virginia! I have a heavy theatre background, which I often incorporate in my English classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Often I will start class with a bell ringer, before moving on to some sort of whole group or small group instruction. I favor a "discovery" style of learning, which forces to come up with answers on their own--and sometimes the questions too! I favor class discussions and lots of background information, as well.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
