I have been teaching for 22 years. Two of those years were spent as an academic coach out of the classroom. I worked with teachers at all grade levels with curriculum design, instruction and assessment. I have taught grades 1-5 during my tenure.
I believe very deeply that students, children in general, have more enduring learning experiences when they are an active part of the process. I like to hear them learn and teach each other. I believe collaboration is the key to quality learning as is discussion as a class, as a group and even with oneself. I take my job seriously and push my students to accomplish their best at every turn. I do not accept mediocre and I stress personal responsibility and perseverance to that end. I love my profession.
My sons say I am the best mom in the world...does that count?
