Hello teaching world! I am in my 5th year of teaching. I taught 2nd grade in CA, then I taught a combo class at a rural country school, a tiny classroom that had 2 kids in 5th, 2 kids in 7th and 2 kids in 8th, which was amazing. Then I moved to Fairbanks, Alaska for a year to be near my daughter, and I taught 1st grade. That was very interesting, to have so much snow, and -40 degrees, trying to get young kids into winter gear, before sending them out to recess in -20 degree weather. So much fun.
I am a weird person, and it is so much fun to teach because my strange self comes out, and I am drawn to the kids who have these hidden talents, that they don't know how to show yet. I love drawing the things that they are good at out of them, so that their self esteem goes up, and they feel good about who they are, and that they are special. I like to build on their strengths, and give them the resources to push away the negative. I love art, yarn, sewing, drawing, cooking, building, and taking pictures.
