20 years teaching experience across all grades with specific focus on literacy intervention for elementary-age students. I teach in a semi-private elementary school in New Zealand as a literacy intervention specialist and also own and operate a neurodiverse tutoring company specializing in literacy intervention which caters for students with dyslexia and ADHD. I also train qualified teachers to become effective Structured Literacy tutors.
I follow the science of reading and create resources that support teaching using a Structured Literacy approach. I believe in the importance of using a multisensory/multimodal approach to teaching and learning and am a strong believer in the importance of empathy, trust, and fun in the learning environment. Spaced repetition to consolidate learning is a feature of the resources I make and use.

I am neurodivergent and therefore am a passionate advocate of equal access to education for all students. Learning differently should not be a disadvantage and it is up to educators to make a difference.
