TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Grace Struiksma currently teaches Humanities/Language & Literature courses at Channing Hall International Baccalaureate School. She has previously taught 6th grade, college-level English and high school social studies. She also served as the K-6 Project Coordinator for Utah Agriculture in the Classroom, facilitated the Food, Land and People graduate online course through Utah State University and conducted workshops for in-service and pre-service teacher programs throughout the state.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Educational opportunities must be provided that would allow all students to master basic skills in order to survive and succeed in a global world. Instruction must engage students and connect to real-world issues. Every student is entitled to a curriculum that respects and celebrates all cultures, perspectives, and abilities.

Grace grew up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and has also lived in Virginia, Idaho, Wyoming, New Mexico, Oregon, and Utah. She enjoys traveling, reading, and playing board games. When she isn't spending time with family, including husband, five children, and six grandchildren, she is exploring English and American History.
