I have 15 years of experience in the dual immersion setting. Most of my experience has been in grades 5-8. I have taught all subjects in Spanish, but I have also taught Literatura and Historia in isolation. Aside from teaching in a public school setting, I have also taught Higher Ed, focused on Teacher Preparation courses.
My teaching style is definitely student-focused. I believe that students will work best when they develop their sense of self, while they are learning about other contents. I am also culturally relevant in my teaching style. Students are more apt to learn, when they can view the world through the lenses of others cultures and perceptions.
