TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching Communication Arts and Reading classes in 7th grade since 2007. During that time I have honed my craft and put my thumbprint on everything I do. What drives me is seeing my students learn and apply their knowledge to improve their reading and writing skills. I love it when they come back to see me after they have graduated 7th grade and say, "I still remember what you taught us about..." and "You prepared me so well for eighth grade." There is no bigger compliment than that.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I show my kids that I am passionate about what I do. I get excited to talk about grammar, reading, and writing. When I am excited, the kids get excited, too!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s degrees in Communication and Organizational Administration in 2005. Soon after, I decided that my real passion was for teaching so I returned to school. I received my Master of Arts in Teaching from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, with minors in English and Speech Communication.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

In my spare time, I love to read, cook, and spend time with my family. My husband and I have a puppy, Darcy, named after a character in my favorite book, Pride and Prejudice.
