TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began my teaching career in 2008 as a junior high science and social studies teacher. As I prepare to start my 10th year teaching I will also begin my 6th year teaching third grade! Third grade is where my heart is! I enjoy the content and this is such a fun age!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am always looking for ways to make lesson engaging and hands-on. I enjoy using interactive notebook assignments and digital products. I use technology whenever possible. In my classroom I focus on creating an independent, confident, and respectful classroom atmosphere.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

It is an honor to be able to educate the youth of our country. It is rewarding to witness those small moments when a struggling student grasps a difficult concept, when students interact with one another in a respectful manner, and when students become confident in their work.

I graduated for Western Illinois University in 2008, with a degree in Elementary Education. I am always looking for professional development, conferences, and webinars that will help continue to expand my on my best practices.
