Perfectly Preschool

I am a 7th year preschool teacher. I work with 4-5 year olds who are getting ready to enter kindergarten the following year. I LOVE LOVE LOVE what I do. I also love creating new resources to use in my room and sharing them with everyone else too.

Children learn best by being involved in their environment. A mixture of free time to explore materials as well as structured learning activities are vital to a child's learning of new skills. You will notice that a lot of my products are hands-on without worksheets. As a teacher of young children I do not believe that worksheets are developmentally appropriate. The more involved the child can be, the better.

Associates Degree

I have learned so much from my preschoolers. Hopefully just as much as they have learned from me. I never tire from hearing parents say how much their child enjoys school and learning. I know that when they say that, I have impacted that little life in a huge way. Parents appreciate what I do, what we all do as educators. When parents come to me at the end of the year with tears in their eyes, I know I have done my "job" and made a positive impact on many lives. I never knew teaching was what I wanted to do, but now I can't imagine doing anything else. The amount of time I spend prepping and preparing makes it all worth when I get to spend those 2.5 hours with them and knowing how much they enjoy being there. Even at the end of the year when we are counting down the days until summer break, I get a little sad when it's all said and done. I miss them, even when I think I won't. As soon as the year has ended, I get way too excited for the next year and think of all the new things I can do and what I can do better!
