I am a twenty year veteran teacher who works to create a sense of peace for students and educators through creativity and efficiency. I have experience in high school and middle school, independent study and traditional settings. I am credentialed in English, Social Studies, and Administrative Services.
I emphasize student-centered learning, which is a teaching style that puts students at the center of the learning process and focuses on their individual needs and interests. In student-centered learning, teachers act as facilitators and guides rather than lecturers, encouraging students to take an active role in their own learning. This approach can include project-based learning, collaborative learning, and inquiry-based learning, among other strategies. The appeal of student-centered learning lies in its ability to engage and motivate students, promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and foster a sense of ownership and responsibility for learning. As a result, many educators have embraced this approach as a way to promote deeper learning and prepare students for success in the 21st century.

I believe it's important for educators and students to experience peace in the learning environment and sometimes that is difficult to achieve in the middle school environment. My goal is to help you increase opportunities for peace in your classroom.
