I have taught for 16 years. My first year I was the SIA techer now called the EIP teacher. I went from room to room helping struggling students. I then spent 2 years in kindergarten. After that I was placed in second grade and remained in second grade for 5 years, switched to third for 2 years and then back to second grade again.
I am very direct. I give students the information they need, then whole group practice time and then they work independently. The best thing that ever happened to me was the Smart board.
I live and went to school in Georgia. I first received a double major in Art and Spanish in 1985 and later went back to Mercer to attend their teaching certificate program. I later received my Master's from Walden University. I have worked in the Houston County Board of Education for a total of 13 years. I worked in the Clayton County School system for 2 years in 2004/2005 school year and 2005/2006 school year.
I graduated with a double major in Art and Spanish in 1985. I returned to school to get my Teaching certificate in 1997 and attended Mercer. I later received my Masters degree from Walden Online University.
I love technology and believe it is a great motivational tool for students. SmartBoards allow us to have each student participate equally in all activities. I believe that Lessons and activities should be student centered.
