After seven years as a high school math teacher, I left at the e d of the 2020 school year to stay home with my babies. Shortly thereafter I began tutoring and working through my classroom materials to make them as effective as possible.
In a nutshell, my teaching still is a combination of everything. Are there days where a quick session at the board is going to be efficient and effective, SURE! Of course, there are other days where station activities are great, or projects are needed.
I was nominated Teacher of the Year at the end of the 2020 school year. It was a great end to the first chapter in my education career!
As a lover of numbers from a young age, I knew math was my future. Growing up, I loved teaching. Whether that was play-based as a babysitter, or as a swim lesson instructor, I knew I had a passion for seeing others learn. Combine the two and there was no other choice than to become a math teacher.
