One Smile at a Time

Hello! My name is Michelle Mercon, and I have been a Kindergarten teacher for 12 years, and am now teaching 2nd grade. Previously, I worked in business and made a choice to change careers to follow my passion. I absolutely love working with my students and helping them find excitement in learning. Each year seems to bring more diverse learning styles, as well as children with more unique needs. I will admit, I find it can be a challenge in a general education setting to address these needs on my own. Over the years, I have tried many different management strategies to reach my autistic learners as well as my learners needing more visual cues. While I know each child and situation are unique, these resources I have created have been very helpful for me in my general ed. classroom and seem realistic to implement as they are not too lengthy. I feel I can reach these students and guide them to more happiness and success. My hope is that you will find success with these too.
