I have a varied experience in both research and education. I have worked as a researcher in the field of Applied Microbiology. During this period, I also volunteered to teach science in a multi-age classroom for an after-school program. This led me to decide teaching as my career, after which I worked in an international school as a primary teacher. I handled science and mathematics for grade 3, science for grade 4 and subbed as science teacher for grades 5 & 6. I have also completed a post-graduate diploma in learning and teaching which has helped me become a better person as well as a better teacher.
My style of teaching leans towards inquiry-based learning. I prefer to enable children in leading the classroom and take charge of their learning. I try to integrate science (which is what I teach) with other subject areas as much as possible to provide children with an authentic and realistic learning experience.
Mother to a beautiful child!
