Most of my teaching experience is in 4th and 5th grade. I currently teach in 4th grade humanities. I have the privilege to develop my own curriculum that meets the needs of my diverse classroom. My units and lessons are standards based, but designed to support my students and community. My students include multilingual learners, students with special needs, and gifted and talented learners. For 5 years I was a GenEd and SPED teacher in a 5th grade classroom. Also,I have had experience in Kindy and 3rd.
I want my students to be the best versions of themselves. My classroom is interactive and loud. There is freedom and choice in their learning styles. I am not the keeper of knowledge, so my students and I learn together. Learning is done through discussions, research, and trial and error.

Teaching is about pouring our heart and soul into our kiddos on a daily basis. But it is also about a work life balance. To achieve this we need each other. Teachers need to stick together. We will not make it alone, we need a community to lift each other up! You are amazing, you are doing your best, you are enough!
