TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am semi-retired from teaching. I spent many years teaching instrumental music in Wichita, KS and surrounding areas. I have taught high school programs with band, orchestra, jazz, music theory and keyboarding as well as 5-12 band and orchestra programs.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a very methodical and organized teacher. I like to work smarter, not harder. I've spent many years refining my teaching resources to be as efficient as possible. I know that teaching music is a sense of organized chaos, but I had a lot of successes with students over the years. I've also had more than a dozen student teachers throughout my tenure, many that are successful teachers in the area.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was teacher of the year in my most recent district and recognized as a finalist for both Distinguished Teacher of the Year in both High School and New Teacher categories in my previous district.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Masters of Music Education from Wichita State University as well as over thirty continuing education credits, many of which are outside the field of music.
